Summary

As everyone knows, nothing is sweeter than tiny baby fingers and chubby baby toes。 。 。 。 And here, from two of the most gifted picture-book creators of our time, is a celebration of baby fingers, baby toes, and the joy they—and the babies they belong to—bring to everyone, everywhere, all over the world!

This is a gorgeously simple picture book for very young children, and once you finish the rhythmic, rhyming text, all you’ll want to do is go back to the beginning 。 。 。 and read it again! The luminous watercolor illustrations of these roly-poly little ones from a variety of backgrounds are adorable, quirky, and true to life, right down to the wrinkles, dimples, and pudges in their completely squishable arms, legs, and tummies。

Mistress Magic

My aunt played this for my 4-year-old cousin (her granddaughter) who passed away on Tuesday as part of a way to honour her and spend time with her。 It was a perfect story, even though the angel with ten little fingers and ten little toes is no longer with us anymore。 She would have loved this story。

Great!

Cute art。 Lame repetitive text。 Good last line though。 This one would be better without words。 Except maybe that last page or two。

Harriet Mitchell

Well intentioned but ableist。

Jocelyn Cervantes

Cute little picture book that shows similarities within all children! Great for children ages 2 and up!

Meredith

Simple illustrations and encouragement of counting and exploring body parts are featured in this book。 I was disappointed though—I would’ve liked to see some inclusion of the disabled population who do not have ten fingers and/or ten toes。 A rewrite or an updated version to be more inclusive would be more effective in teaching children about acceptance, ability, and love。 Promotes: counting to ten, body part identification, love, attachment, diversity

Rebekah

Cute little story and art to match。

I love this sweet and simple rhyming board book, which reminds us that all babies, from all over the world have ten little fingers and ten little toes。

This book would be good and cute to read to a very young kid and the read aloud I watched of it sang along to it and I thought that would be fun to do too!

My kiddos loved it when I read this book, and wiggled their ten little fingers and ten little toes。 Babies babies everywhere。 A fun classic that I'm sad to return to the library。 My kiddos loved it when I read this book, and wiggled their ten little fingers and ten little toes。 Babies babies everywhere。 A fun classic that I'm sad to return to the library。 。。。more

No matter where the babies of this darling book are born, they all have ten little fingers and ten little toes。 A great way to focus on ways we are similar and simultaneously celebrate our differences。* library bookAge: 1。5

A great book to teach children how to count to 10。

Our little one loves this book and it gets pulled off the shelf several times a day。 I enjoy that it covers numbers, anatomy, and how we are all the same while also being different。 Plus, it helps us be interactive since we do the kisses on the nose。

If you’ve longed for your own baby and finally held him, this will make you cry tears of joy。

Babies are born all over the world - in cities, in the hills, etc。 But all of those babies are the same in that they all have "ten little fingers and ten little toes。" I love the gentle rhyming text of this one, and the ending makes it a perfect book for parents to read to their own babies。 Babies are born all over the world - in cities, in the hills, etc。 But all of those babies are the same in that they all have "ten little fingers and ten little toes。" I love the gentle rhyming text of this one, and the ending makes it a perfect book for parents to read to their own babies。 。。。more

A lovely way to end the day is with your little one in your arms reading this rhythmic book about the similarities of babies, the cultures of the world and the love of every mother has for their children。

My friend Anders sent me this book! It showed up right as I woke up from my nap, so Mommy read it to me right away during our post-nap story time。 I liked looking at all of the different babies。 I don't know many babies, so I find pictures of them fascinating。 I also know all about fingers and toes, so I could point them out。 It was a fun book! “It is time for parents to teach young people early on that in diversity there is beauty and there is strength “ (Maya Angelou) And this is exactly what that book does! It was the first book that helped me introduce the idea that regardless our appearance, place of birth, or social background we are all the same: we all have 'ten little fingers and ten little toes'。 At first of course my baby only enjoyed playing with her fingers and toes- since she was very young- but now at the age of two we s “It is time for parents to teach young people early on that in diversity there is beauty and there is strength “ (Maya Angelou) And this is exactly what that book does! Sweet sweet verse and lovely inclusive images of babes of all shapes, sizes, and colors。 What a beautiful way to bring up a little one into a world full of people who look both like you but are unique and special。

Super cute, I got it for my nephew because the little boy in the jeans and red t-shirt looks like him!

My son is mesmerise by the repetition, rhythm and cute illustrations in this book。 We love it。

For most of the story, the wording is repetitive as it says “there was once a baby who was born in ____。。。and another baby who was born in a _____。。。。 and both of these babies as everyone knows, has ten little fingers and ten little toes”。 It goes by that format the whole way。 Although the story is repetitive in it’s descriptions, I feel the main message is the emphasis that they are from different backgrounds and places。 And no matter where they are from or what they come from, they are similar For most of the story, the wording is repetitive as it says “there was once a baby who was born in ____。。。and another baby who was born in a _____。。。。 and both of these babies as everyone knows, has ten little fingers and ten little toes”。 It goes by that format the whole way。 Although the story is repetitive in it’s descriptions, I feel the main message is the emphasis that they are from different backgrounds and places。 And no matter where they are from or what they come from, they are similar in some sort of way。 。。。more

We discovered this book a little late, really, since the kids being read to are four and six。 And yet, it was still a delight。 The illustrations of the babies are just so cute and both the girls commented on that。 And sometimes a really short book is a nice break at bedtime。
